Holidays

Segulah has celebrated many holidays as a community!

High Holidays

In recent years, Segulah has met for morning services on both days of Rosh Hashanah, and all services on Yom Kippur. For more information about Segulah High Holidays 5780, including how to register to attend, please check back during the summer.

Shemini Atzeret/Simchat Torah

There are varying views within the Segulah community on what day Shemini Atzeret/Simchat Torah falls, and we celebrate that diversity by organizing services on both 22 Tishrei and 23 Tishrei.  In recognition of these varying views, these services are planned so that everyone can attend Segulah for hakafot, Hatan/Kallah Torah (the completion of the annual cycle of Torah readings), Hatan/Kallah Bereishit (the completion of the annual cycle of Torah readings), Yizkor, and Geshem on the day(s) of their choosing.  Join us for one or both services! Check back closer to the date for information for Shemini Atzeret/Simach Torah 5780.

Purim

Segulah will meet for daytime reading of Megillat Esther during the afternoon of Thursday, March 21, 2019. Please click here for more information.

Shavuot

In 5778, Segulah celebrated Shavuot by participating in the community tikkun leil Shavuot with Tifereth Israel, Ohev Sholom, and Shirat HaNefesh, and organizing sunrise services.  Segulah also held a “tikkun yom Shavuot”, including a potluck picnic lunch and Mincha at Jessup Blair Park on Shavuot afternoon. Check back closer to the date for information for Shavuot 5779.
